Privacy
GGD.deals sets no cookies, runs no analytics scripts, and has no advertising or tracking code of any kind. This page explains the little that it does store.
What is stored in your browser
Five things, all in your browser's local storage, none of them sent anywhere:
- Your theme choice — so a dark or light preference survives a reload.
- Your currency choice — so prices stay in the currency you picked.
- Games you save — the list behind the Saved tab: each game's name, a link to its picture, and when you saved it.
- Your Steam profile — only if you use the wishlist checker, so it can check again on your next visit. "Forget this profile" removes it.
- A cached exchange-rate table — public rates, refreshed daily, kept so every page view does not re-fetch them.
Clearing your browser data removes all five. Nothing identifies you, and none of it leaves your device.
What is recorded on the server
When you click through to a store, the redirect records which deal was clicked — the game, the store, and the time. It does not record who clicked it: no IP address, no cookie, no identifier, no session. The result is a count of clicks per deal and nothing that could be traced back to a person.
Price alerts
If you ask to be told when prices drop — for one game, or for a batch from your saved games or your Steam wishlist — your email address is stored with each game you asked about, so the alert can be sent. It is used for that and nothing else — no newsletter, no marketing, never shared or sold. You get at most one alert email per check, however many of your games drop. Every alert email carries unsubscribe links, for one game or for all of them, and using one deletes those records. Requests that are never confirmed are deleted automatically after seven days.
Steam wishlist checker
If you use it, the Steam profile you enter is sent to our server, which asks Steam for that profile's public wishlist and CheapShark for current deals on those games. Steam and CheapShark see our server, not you. The profile is not stored on our side: the deals found are cached for up to 30 minutes so checking again is instant, and a custom profile name's matching Steam ID for up to a day, then both are discarded.
Other companies
Price and store data comes from the CheapShark API, free-game listings from the Epic Games Store and GamerPower, and game details from Steam. The first page of deals, game details, lowest-ever prices and free-game listings are fetched by our servers, so for those, the companies behind them do not see you.
CheapShark is partly an exception. Searching, filtering, loading more deals and opening a game's price comparison ask CheapShark directly from your browser, so CheapShark receives your IP address and what was looked up, as any website you visit does. Links to stores we have no affiliate arrangement with — GOG and the Ubisoft Store among them — also pass through CheapShark's redirect on the way to the store. Steam links go straight to Steam wherever the game's Steam ID is known. Nothing that identifies you is added to any of these requests.
Game cover images are another exception. They are loaded straight from each store's own image servers — Steam, Epic, GreenManGaming, Fanatical, GamersGate and others — because copying and re-hosting their artwork is not ours to do. Free-game listings also use images hosted by GamerPower. Your browser fetches those images directly, so those companies can see your IP address and that you loaded an image, in the same way any site showing an image from elsewhere would. They are not told which page you were on or anything about you.
When you follow a link to a store, you are on that store's website and their privacy policy applies. If we earn a commission on a purchase, the affiliate network is told that a sale came from us — not who you are.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may set a short-lived cookie to distinguish visitors from bots. That is part of serving the site securely and is not used to track anyone. Alert emails are sent through Resend.
Your rights
The only personal data held is an email address, and only if you signed up for a price alert. To see it or have it deleted, use the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or write to [email protected]. If you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR rights of access, correction, deletion, portability and objection apply, and you may complain to your national data protection authority.
How we make money
When you buy through a link here, the store may pay us a commission. It never changes your price, and it never affects which deals are shown or how they are ordered — the list is sorted by price and discount, nothing else. Some stores pay nothing at all and are listed on exactly the same terms.
