PC game sales: dates and countdown
The Steam Autumn Sale is on now, 1 to 8 October 2026. Next is the Steam Winter Sale, 17 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, which starts in 71 days. Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November 2026, 51 days away. The dates of Steam's sales are Valve's own, as it published them (checked 7 October 2026); every other store sets its own, and GGD.deals compares their prices, so you can see which is cheapest on any day.
Steam's seasonal sales
| Sale | Dates | When |
|---|---|---|
| Steam Autumn Sale | 1 to 8 October 2026 | On now, ends tomorrow |
| Steam Winter Sale | 17 December 2026 to 4 January 2027 | Starts in 71 days |
| Steam Spring Sale | 18 to 25 March 2027 | Starts in 162 days |
| Steam Summer Sale | 24 June to 8 July 2027 | Starts in 260 days |
The dates are Valve's, from its published schedule for developers, checked 7 October 2026. Valve can move them: its schedule and Steam's own pages have the last word.
Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November 2026, 51 days away. Stores choose their own dates around it; most of them run a sale, some starting days earlier. Black Friday PC game deals shows which deals are already at the lowest price the game has had.
Steam's themed sales
| Event | Dates | When |
|---|---|---|
| Cooking Fest | 12 to 19 October 2026 | Starts in 5 days |
| Steam Scream V | 26 October to 2 November 2026 | Starts in 19 days |
| Auto-Battler RPG Fest | 16 to 23 November 2026 | Starts in 40 days |
| Desktop Companion Fest | 14 to 18 January 2027 | Starts in 99 days |
| Shop Keeper Fest | 25 January to 1 February 2027 | Starts in 110 days |
| Sheep Fest | 4 to 8 February 2027 | Starts in 120 days |
| Couch Co-Op Fest | 8 to 15 February 2027 | Starts in 124 days |
| Rhythm Fest | 8 to 15 March 2027 | Starts in 152 days |
More are on Valve's schedule. Discounts in a Fest are smaller in number than in a seasonal sale: only the games in the theme take part.
Steam Next Fest
19 to 26 October 2026 (starts in 12 days); 22 February to 1 March 2027 (starts in 138 days); 14 to 21 June 2027 (starts in 250 days). Next Fest is a festival of demos of games that are not out yet, not a sale, so there is nothing to buy cheaper in it.
PC game sale dates: questions
When is the next Steam sale?
The Steam Autumn Sale is on now, 1 to 8 October 2026. After it comes the Steam Winter Sale, 17 December 2026 to 4 January 2027. These are the dates Valve publishes for developers; see the table above.
How often does Steam have a sale?
Valve runs four Steam-wide seasonal sales a year (Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer). On its schedule they last from 7 to 18 days, counted from the first date to the last. Steam also runs themed sales (Fests) for one kind of game at a time, and Steam Next Fest three times a year, which is for demos.
Is it worth waiting for a Steam sale?
Often, but not always. A game can reach its lowest price in another store's sale, in a sale of its own publisher, or outside any sale. Every game page here shows the lowest price CheapShark has recorded for it and our own price history, so you can check whether today's price already matches it. If it does, waiting is unlikely to get you a better one.
When are Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving, and Cyber Monday is on Monday 30 November 2026.
Do other stores have their sales at the same time?
Not necessarily. Each store sets its own dates, and only Steam's are on a published schedule far ahead. GGD.deals compares the prices of the major PC game stores, so on any day you can see which one is cheapest for the game you want.
